Our Construction Process

A Behind the Scenes View of Our Construction Process
In building beautiful gardens, as with much of life, success lies in the details. While overall price is a very important consideration for your project, we want to give you a detailed overview of the 4 major reasons why our clients choose O’Connell Landscape.

1. Detailed Project Management

All of our projects are directly managed by the company principals. We enjoy a direct personal relationship with our clients and take satisfaction in each project. We have 2-3 projects under construction at any given time, and each project receives detailed attention while under construction. Typically, a member of the management team makes a project management visit to the site several times per week, and we have a weekly progress meeting with the client to review installation and design questions, billing, and construction progress.

2. Our Construction Crews

Our foreman and supervisors have been with our company for years – typically 10 years or more. They are experienced veteran installers and great problem solvers, talented in multiple facets of landscape construction. Our installers perform skilled garden masonry, carpentry and landscape installation work. All our installers, from project supervisor on down, are professional employees who are paid a living wage, provided good job benefits, and who we employ for the long term.

3. Specific Contracts
Change Orders, and Project Billing.
Our philosophy when creating construction contracts is to draft as complete an agreement as possible in the most transparent manner possible. We make clear to you the billable rates, materials, and quantities of materials installed, so there aren’t misunderstandings once we begin construction. All of projects have detailed timetables and construction calendars, to keep the project on time and running smoothly. If there are changes, additions, or subtractions to the project, we provide detailed accounting and Change Order documentation for the work to be authorized by you – this avoids any surprise moments.

4. Quick Response to Your Questions and Concerns
We work on a variety of projects with builders, landscape architects and designers, and directly with project owners. We consistently find that owners or other members of a design team enjoy working with us because we offer superior attention to the project details and fast follow-up via email and phone.
