We<br \/>\npushed the spa and retaining wall back into the hillside to create more space,<br \/>\nplanting the back hillside and expanded the lawn and flagstone walkways.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"nb.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oclandscape.com\/ocblog\/archives\/nb.jpg\" height=\"338\" width=\"450\" \/><br \/><em>Before- The previous spa configuration, while not<br \/>\nunattractive, created unusable lawn space and cramped the back yard<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"nb2.jpg\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oclandscape.com\/ocblog\/archives\/nb2.jpg\" height=\"338\" width=\"450\" \/><br \/><em>Before- The flagstone walkway that was existing was cramped by<br \/>\nthe lawn and spa configuration<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"nf1.JPG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oclandscape.com\/ocblog\/archives\/nf1.JPG\" height=\"338\" width=\"450\" \/><br \/><em>The<br \/>\nold spa pad was moved from the center of the yard to the edge of the yard,<br \/>\ncreating more open usable space. The hillside was planted with groundcovers and<br \/>\ncolorful perennials to open up views from the interior and improve on the bare<br \/>\nhillside.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"nf2.JPG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oclandscape.com\/ocblog\/archives\/nf2.JPG\" height=\"338\" width=\"450\" \/><br \/><em>The<br \/>\nexisting flagstone was matched to tie in a seamless appearance with the old<br \/>\npatio.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" alt=\"nf3.JPG\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oclandscape.com\/ocblog\/archives\/nf3.JPG\" height=\"338\" width=\"450\" \/><br \/><em>The<br \/>\nspa was pushed back into the hillside, creating more usable space within the<br \/>\nyard.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n<p class=\"posted\"><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oclandscape.com\/ocblog\/archives\/2006\/09\/current_project_1.html#comments\"><br \/><\/a> <\/p>\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>We are wrapping up this project in Novato, a renovation of an existing back yard landscape to create more usable area and better transition spaces.
